Arzignano (Vicenza), 19th November 2014 – The Marelli Motori Board has appointed Mauro Sacchetto as the new Chief Executive Officer of Marelli Motori Group of Companies. Marelli Motori, part of “The Carlyle Group”, is an independent global leading designer and manufacturer of rotating electrical machines recognized internationally for its technologically advanced applications
From 1st January 2015 Mauro Sacchetto will take over Roberto Ditri’s role. Roberto Ditri has led the Group since April 1997 reaching outstanding results in the global market, and will continue to give his valuable contribution as a Counselor in the Board of Directors.
Mauro Sacchetto was born in Vercelli in 1959. As a Graduate of Physics and with a Masters of Administration from Stanford (USA), he has matured a vast international experience in USA, Europe and Asia in leading companies and multinationals in sectors such as Telecommunications, Electronics, Micro Electronics and Information and Communication Technologies.
In his career he was CEO of Bull Compuprint; COO in Corning OTI; President and Chairman of Atena; CEO of Pirelli Submarine Systems and CEO of Pirelli Broadband Solutions; Group CEO of Datalogic, a multinational listed on the Milan stock exchange (Star) and world leader in bar code applications and RFID systems in the automatic data capture markets and industrial automation and lastly chair of the audit committee for Saipem.
Arzignano (Vicenza), 19 Novembre 2014 – Il Consiglio di Amministrazione di Marelli Motori SpA, società appartenente a “The Carlyle Group” e leader mondiale nella progettazione e costruzione di macchine elettriche rotanti per applicazioni ad alto contenuto tecnologico, ha nominato Mauro Sacchetto quale nuovo Amministratore Delegato e CEO del Gruppo.
In tale ruolo Mauro Sacchetto, dal 1° Gennaio 2015 si avvicenda a Roberto Ditri, alla guida della prestigiosa società italiana dall’Aprile 1997. Roberto Ditri, che ha condotto il Gruppo a risultati di riconosciuta eccellenza internazionale, rimane nel consiglio di amministrazione in qualità di consigliere.
Mauro Sacchetto è nato a Vercelli nel 1959. Laureato in Fisica e con un Master in Business Administration a Stanford (USA) ha maturato una vasta e qualificata esperienza internazionale in USA, Europa ed Asia in aziende leader e multinazionali in settori come Telecomunicazioni, Elettronica e Microelettronica ed ICT.
Nella sua carriera ha ricoperto la carica di CEO in Bull Compuprint; COO in Corning OTI; President & Chairman in Atena; CEO Pirelli Submarine System e CEO Pirelli Broadband Solutions, Group CEO di Datalogic, multinazionale quotata alla borsa di Milano (Star) e leader mondiale nelle applicazioni dei codici a barre e sistemi RFID nei mercati Automatic data capture ed Industrial automation ed infine presidente comitato di controllo di Saipem.

Marelli Motori successfully attended ADIPEC in Abu Dhabi (10-13 Nov), the largest Oil & Gas industry event in the Middle East, Africa and Asia regions.
During the show the company presented a medium voltage explosion proof motor specially developed for hazardous areas such as refineries and offshore installations which are so typical of the Middle East region.
Always with a view to offer safe, efficient and reliable solutions to its global market, the company has recently acquired the IECEx certification for their explosion proof motor range, an additional feature which makes international trade simpler, faster and more cost effective.

Marelli Motori will attend ICEM 2014, the International Conference on Electrical Machines held in Berlin on 2-5 September.
Our Chief Technical Officer, Mr. Stanic, will present our latest technological innovations concerning Marelli Motori marine electrical propulsion systems. Mr. Stanic will be Co-Chairman of the TT7 session – Grid connected and emergency applications (3rd September, 16.20 – 18.00) and will also hold a speech titled “Hybrid Synchronous Motor-Alternator with Dual AC/DC Excitation System for Shipboard Generation and Propulsion Applications” during the SS7 session – Fault tolerant solutions in the design of electric machines (3rd September at 14.20).
